A tree planted in memory of an astronomical kindergarten teacher
About Heidi Uceda
In 2024, Heidi Uceda, a long-time McAuliffe Elementary School kindergarten teacher, passed away. In addition, she served as the school’s English Language Faciltiator for five years.
This year, school staff planted a tree near Uceda’s former classroom near the entrance of the first-grade wing to remember and honor her legacy and impact on the many students she worked with throughout the years.
If you or your child have had memories of learning from Mrs. Uceda, we welcome you to post those memories on her online tribute page.

Although many of these students are probably adults at this time, we have purposely blurred their faces for security and legal reasons and so that we can put the focus on Mrs. Uceda and all of her hard work during her tenure at McAuliffe Elementary School.
